Hi! My name is Annabelle!
I am a Florida teen who wants to help other kids who need our support, both here and abroad.
Kicks for Kids, International is designed to help at-risk kids, and children in foster care. So many of these kids have experienced horrible things. Their parents may have substance abuse issues, domestic violence problems, physically or sexually abused them, or just left them alone. I want to help them feel normal. Shoes can’t fix all of their problems, but when they go to school or out with friends, they will not feel as different. They will be able to wear what everyone else does and feel more a part of the community. As a teen myself, I know how important clothing can be as self-expression. I want to provide shoes and more, to help these kids wear what makes them feel comfortable. I also want to give them options.They do not have any control in their lives, where they will live, and who they can visit. This gives them at least some opportunity to make their own decisions. Lastly, I want to raise awareness for what is happening to children in our own community. Things are hard for foster kids. I think if our community knew what the need was, they would respond.
